Every Monday we will be bringing you an unsigned singer or band as part of our Independent Music Monday feature. This week, we caught up with Vinyl Staircase find out more about them.

Who is in the band, how did you meet, where are you from and how did you come up with the band name?
VS comprises of George Ogle, brother Jake and Luke Andrews, and Michael Thorpe. We met down the local in Dorking town, which is where we reside. ‘Vinyl Staircase’ is an anagram of all of our names.

Who were your musical influences when you were growing up and who are your influences now?
George was birthed in the Hacienda so has been skanking to the beats from day one. We listen to a variety of different artists but our shared influences include The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Sunflower Bean, Ty Segall, Cal McRae and many more.

How would you describe your sound?
“Can I get a long wet hall reverb on the vocals please.”
