Who is in the band, how did you meet, where are you from and how did you come up with the band name?
Black Bear Kiss, are a 5-piece upbeat rock band from the West Midlands.
Formed in 2016 by long term collaborators and good friends Rob Jones and Chris Leech, Black Bear Kiss have grown quickly on the UK music scene.
The band’s distinctive sound comes from trademark crunchy guitars, catchy songs with lively, bouncy guitar melodies and sing-along chorus’s.
Black Bear Kiss have started to establish themselves with high energy gigs across the West Midlands and Shropshire, ensuring every live show takes the audience on a journey from classic rock opener “You’ve Got Nothing”, to funk led “Secret Side” and the band’s debut single “Hooks”.
Thriving on crowd interaction, singer Chris often leads a sing-along on the riff heavy set finale “Cloak and Dagger” and the fan favourite “Fighting Our Corner”.

Who were your musical influences when you were growing up and who are your influences now?
Playing their own brand of upbeat, riffy rock inspired by Kasabian, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Queens of the Stone Age, the band pride themselves on high energy performances, leaving audiences wanting more.
How would you describe your sound?
Rock with a twist of funk.
What is your latest single called and what was the influence behind it?
'Hooks' - influenced by the upbeat, foot stompy tracks of Kasabian, Queens of the Stone Age and the Foo Fighters.
What’s your local music scene like?
Growing - more and more live venues are appearing in Shropshire although we are keen to get around the UK and introduce ourselves to new audiences.
What do you have planned for the next 12 months? Any albums or festivals?
The video for the next single has already been shot and features some serious heavy machinery. We are also back in the studio in June to record more tracks.

Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age.
Any funny stories surrounding your live performances?
We once had a power cut on stage mid song as someone backstage unplugged some wires to make a cup of tea!
