Every Monday we will be bringing you an unsigned singer or band as part of our Independent Music Monday feature. This week, we caught up with Harry Miller find out more about him...

Where are you from and how did you first get into music?
I’m born and bred in Liverpool. I got into music at a really early age. My mum and dad always played The Beatles and apparently always dance along to them.

Who were your musical influences when you were growing up and who are your influences now?
The Beatles and Queen were my main influences when I was younger. Now however, so many new artists have come into my life and changed the way I perceive music. Artists like Oasis, Isaac Gracie, Blossoms inspire me to write every day I can.

How would you describe your sound?
I’m an acoustic act and I’ve recently started using a loop which has allowed me to broaden my songwriting and live shows! The rest you’ll have to listen out for.

What is your latest single called and what was the influence behind it?
My latest single was inspired by a past breakup. I’m over it now though. Some things you move on from when you’re young I guess.

What’s your local music scene like?
To be honest, the scene around music has shot up in the last 10-12 months. Last year it was pretty dead but bands like Monks, Spinn, Paris Youth Foundation have all started to make a name for themselves and it’s boss to see people from my city do well off their own backs.

What do you have planned for the next 12 months? Any albums or festivals?
I don’t know how much I want to review because I all want it well hidden. I have a following up to ‘the 15th’ coming soon though called ‘Scarlett’. It’s a special song to me and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!

Is there anyone you’d love to collaborate with?
My mate’s Spinn, that’d be belter. I love them musically and I get on with them so well so I couldn’t really imagine anyone better to work with.

Any funny stories surrounding your live performances?
Not really, I’ve only been gigging for a few months so hopefully I’ll have a funny story to tell next time!

What is the one thing that you want readers to know about you?
I love Mo Salah more than my girlfriend. I hope she doesn’t see this interview now haha.
