&& OR

Every Monday we will be bringing you an unsigned singer or band as part of our Independent Music Monday feature. This week, we caught up with && OR find out more…

Where are you from and how did you first get into music?
I got into music by first producing for artists around Dublin, mostly rappers. From there, I started to expand my musical knowledge and branch out and listen and seek influence from other genres. I started to listen to harder music and finally fell in love with a more harder, more industrial sound.

Who were your musical influences when you were growing up and who are your influences now?
I first got into music by learning the guitar so that shaped alot of the music I would eventually listen to. Now, I mostly listen to Gesaffelstein, Brodinski and some others. Locally, I have been keeping up with some local promoters called Dark Trax. I like their events and the music they promote.

How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as jarring, dark, dissonant and industrial.

What is your latest single called and what was the influence behind it?
My latest single is off my EP. The single is called "FN+F12" and has been influenced primarily by what ever industrial sounds I have been seeking out and listening to over the past year. I have been influenced for the visuals by working on Openframeworks projects and ideas and have been wishing create by own projects using the coding platform.

What’s your local music scene like?
Dublin music scene is amazing, a lot of great acts from a diverse range of music genres. A mix of different promoters can be found pushing events around the city.

What do you have planned for the next 12 months? Any albums or festivals?
I am currently looking to start playing a few gigs around the city, where I hope to implement more Audio Visual aspects into a full range event. Lighting & visuals is something which I appreciate when I watch people playing live, especially when live visuals are programmed to be audio reactive.

Is there anyone you’d love to collaborate with?
Musically I would just like to develop my own sound for now before I consider collaboration with other artists.

What is the one thing that you want readers to know about you?
I created a video to accompany my single that I would love for people to watch. The video is below.
