Where are you from and how did you first get into music?
My name is Dan Ashplant, I am from Guernsey in the Channel Islands and I got into music from a very young age.
Who were your musical influences when you were growing up and who are your influences now?
My musical influencers when growing up were Status Quo and they still influence me along with The Eagles, Dire Straits and ELO to name a few.
How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as mature and quite mellow but with the ability to go in any direction musically.
What’s your local music scene like?
The Music scene in Guernsey is continuously growing which is fantastic.
What do you have planned for the next 12 months? Any albums or festivals?
I have plans for my first gigs this year.
Is there anyone you’d love to collaborate with?
I would like to collaborate with Mimi Helyar from Guernsey who is fantastic.
What is the one thing that you want readers to know about you?
I would like readers to know that on my Debut E.P I play all the instruments myself which I’m proud of.
